Plaintiffs in the Amica Insurance class action lawsuit say their vehicles’ structural systems and bodies were damaged in accidents and can be repaired to pre-accident conditions. As a result, these vehicles allegedly suffer from “diminished value”.
According to the plaintiffs, Amica must compensate them for the “diminished value” that occurred as a result of structural or bodily damage to their insurance claims. Because this loss in value was not recovered, Amica claimed that the consumer’s vehicles were undervalued and did not adequately compensate them after the accident.
Amica admitted no wrongdoing but agreed to settle the claims for $484,800. The company settled similar claims with Florida plaintiffs last year.

Auto Insurance Review: Amica’s auto insurance rates are on the high side, with rates much higher than what we found at Geco, Progressive or Allstate. But this service is highly rated by the administrators.
Buying Home Insurance: Amica’s home insurance prices are average, but claims service is generally rated well. If something goes wrong, policyholders have the support of Amica’s award-winning customer service team.
Budget-friendly companies – like Jaco – can offer rates that are more affordable than Amica’s auto insurance rates.
