Reality Check: What Does, And Doesn’t, Protect Your Smartphone

I got my new phone from Asurion after a total loss. The back of the phone says it’s an “Asurion Refurbished” phone on the back. I think this diminishes the value. It is incomplete because of the label. It’s no longer an IPhone, but an Asurion IPhone. I want a refund on my insurance! Keep Iphone Asurion!

Take it with Asurion. The value of the phone had already decreased since the refurbished model. I’ve never heard of Asurion putting their own branding on a phone, but I wouldn’t be surprised if it was because people were selling refurbished iPhones as new.

In any case, iPhone users should not use Asurion first. That’s why Apple Care.

Mschlag, we are sorry to hear that you are unhappy with your new Asurion device. You can be sure that their phones are inspected and upgraded to the highest quality standards. If you are not satisfied with their product, please contact Asurionat at 888-881-2622 for further assistance.

Have you read your policy? (A rhetorical question). You accepted a new or refurbished phone or a phone that was repaired with new or refurbished parts.

I got the Asurion phone right after I got it water damaged. The home button stays stuck, the battery is terrible and the volume changes randomly. Apparently, when you take apart these refurbished Aurion phones, there are very few Apple parts left. We have 7 lines with Verizon, have been loyal customers for over a decade, and yes, I believe Verizon is responsible for their decision to partner with Asurion.

The only option is to send it back to Asurion and hope you get a better upgrade. Asurion Lottery.

Re “refurbished phones and parts” We have 7 lines with Verizon, have been loyal customers for over a decade, and yes I believe Verizon stands by their decision to work with Asurion. Until recently, there was no alternative. Asurion was the only full-service mobile insurance provider. All carriers use AT&T, t-mobile, etc. The only option is to send it back to Asurion and hope you get a better upgrade. Asurion Lottery. Well yes. Shouldn’t that be done when sending a defective product? I believe Asurion covers the others for 30 days per their contract with Verizon

We appreciate your loyalty to Verizon. It is important to have a working machine, especially after it has been replaced due to damage. All major airlines use Asurion as an insurance provider. We have a great relationship with them and expect nothing but the best when a claim is submitted. Since they sent you the device due to damage, they keep the warranty on the phone. You must work directly with Asurion for any equipment issues. Asurion can be reached at 888-881-2622. AlbertoR_VZW

I only deal with Asurion now. This is what I replaced the screen and it started working bad and now they sent another one. All well and good, but wait! Do I have to send my already fully paid phone back to them? Or do I have to pay $300? really? A phone that belongs to me and has already been purchased. hmmm… Just to clarify, this is also the first time I have used this policy in 5 years. Do the math: 15 bucks a month is not worth 12 months and 5 years! The first time I had to file a broken Verizon phone insurance claim was a few years ago. I was in the kitchen and I had just taken Otterbox off my iPhone. You see, I had gotten water in the Otterbox case and I didn’t want to risk water damage to my phone.

Apple Warranty 101: Is Iphone Insurance Worth It?

I was in a kitchen with a ceramic tile floor. And then I dropped my iPhone without its Otterbox protective case. And when it hit the ceramic floor, it broke. In addition, I damaged the body. That left him unable to charge the phone.

A word to the wise – just take the iPhone out of its otter box on the mat. I have never made that mistake since.

Since we chose phone insurance on our Verizon Wireless account, I knew I could file a claim for my broken phone. I wasn’t sure how to do it though. So I thought I’d walk you through how to file a broken phone claim with Verizon Wireless.

But before I do that, I want to explain how the insurance contract works with Verizon Wireless. I also want to explain why we decided to add broken phone insurance to our Verizon Wireless account.

Total By Verizon Apple Iphone 13 Pro, 128gb, Graphite

FYI, since we got our first cell phone, our cell phone carrier has only been Verizon Wireless. So I can only speak from my own experience.

But I would imagine that AT&T, Sprint, T-Mobile, Cricket, Boost and other wireless carriers offer a similar insurance program and reimbursement process. On the other hand, if I’m wrong, let me know.

For the longest time I avoided getting insurance for our cell phones. It just seemed so expensive in a “what if” scenario. I mean, my husband and I had our phones for years and they were never broken.

And then, well, teenagers with phones happened. One phone fell into the toilet. Another fell in our driveway. The other slipped from their grip and fell down the stairs.

What You Need To Know About Verizon Broken Phone Insurance

Suddenly we were switching phones left and right. Yes, our daughter should have been more responsible. But accidents happen.

But, you know how expensive smartphones are. When you’ve paid cash for two new phones a year, broken phone insurance doesn’t seem that expensive.

I keep calling this Verizon broken phone insurance. Technically, Verizon Wireless is calling it the Verizon Mobile Protect Multi Device. Well, at least we have it. They also offer insurance for individual devices. We only have four phones on our plan.

It costs $50 a month and covers all four smartphones on our account. So a year from now we’re paying $600 for the condition if. In two years, we’ll be paying $1,200—or a little more than the cost of the latest iPhone.

The irony is that as soon as we started paying for broken phone insurance, we had no broken phones. I have to admit that getting this insurance every month felt like a waste of money.

It’s ironic, isn’t it, that my daughters didn’t need phone insurance. No, they have been good about taking good care of their phones. It was me, the mother. I am the one who filed our first insurance claim with Verizon for a broken phone.

This is called Verizon Wireless Protection multi-device phone insurance covers not only broken phones, but also lost and stolen phones. I’ve never lost or had a phone stolen, so I can’t offer a first-person review of how this all works.

However, both broke
