However, you know how expensive cell phones are. After paying for two new phones a year, broken phone insurance doesn’t seem expensive.

I call it the broken Verizon phone insurance. Technically, Verizon Wireless calls it the Verizon Mobile Protect Multi Device. At least that’s what we have. They only offer property insurance. We only have four phones on our system.
It costs $50 a month and includes four calls to our account. So, a year later, we are paying $600 for any article. In two years, we will be paying $1,200, or less than the cost of a new iPhone.
Fortunately, when we started paying for phone insurance, we had no broken phones. I have to admit, this insurance seemed like a waste of money every month.
Unfortunately, my daughters didn’t need phone insurance. No, they were good at keeping their cell phones. I am their mother. I am the person who filed the first insurance claim with Verizon for a broken phone.

However, as I learned when I tried to file a claim for my daughter’s iPhone XR, just because the phone is physically damaged doesn’t qualify you to claim it. If the phone still works, you are SOL. On the other hand, if you break your phone so you can’t charge it, or the power or volume buttons don’t work, keep playing – you can insure a replacement phone.
However, it seems that there is a lot to cover this closure. For example, it is limited to certain phone models only.

Additionally, you can’t get it if your phone doesn’t have an extended warranty. Honestly, it sounds easier than fixing a broken screen or a broken phone.
In my experience, Verizon broken phone insurance will replace the broken phone. You may think you have to go to the Verizon Wireless website to start your claim, and you can do it on your account, but you will be redirected to one of them, Asurion.
Asurion will ask you for information about the phone, including its history. So when I started complaining about my phone, I was only talking about physical damage. Almost immediately, Asurion denied my complaint.
After that, I realized that I should give some information about how the phone works. Port damage is blocked. Not to break the screen. It is, but under a different form of appeal. And you can’t get a new phone for that.

My next step was to turn off Find My iPhone on that phone. For anyone who has used Find My iPhone to find their iPhone, turning it off quickly isn’t easy. But since I said they couldn’t proceed until Asurion agreed, I knew I had to.
When you turn off Find My iPhone, the quest is over and Asurion will give you a new phone overnight. When you get a new phone, you turn it off and have a new phone.
The last step for you is to return the phone to Asurion. They will give you a package in the mail. You have one week to return it. If you don’t, you will be charged the cost of a new phone.
Additionally, when your phone is returned to Asurion, they will inspect it. If the damage described does not match what they saw, they may reject your claim after the incident and charge you for a new phone. So don’t make any false insurance claims.

One of the things I didn’t expect was paying a deductible for phone insurance. It was my ignorance. I have home insurance, car insurance and health insurance. In both cases, you have a deductible.
